What's in a drink?

1 pint of 5% lager = 2.84 units

1 can of 5% lager = 2.2 units

1 pint of 4% lager = 2.28 units

1 can of 9% super strength lager = 4 units

1 175ml glas of 13% wine (small glass) = 2.3 units

1 250 ml glass of 13% wine (large glass) = 3.25 units

1 25ml shot of 40% vodka = 1 unit

'Alcopop'/Ready to Drink (RTD) 275ml at 5% = 1.4 units


Current daily sensible drinking guidelines for adults.

2-3 units a day for adult women

3-4 units a day for adult men

Remember drinks poured at home are often bigger than pub measures
